Bharatiya Mahavidyalaya Amravati established in 1963, is the first educational institution under the management of Bharatiya Vidya Mandir. Four founder members of the society, who were lecturers in different colleges on permanent basis, left their job to work together as teacher with a new mission and purpose. The senior most among the group, Shri AnnaSaheb Vaidya was selected as the first Principal of the college.
Starting with the two faculties of Arts & Commerce, the college over the years has earned the reputation as the first college in Amravati to have all the three faculties of Arts, Commerce and Science under one roof. The college is situated in its own campus at Rajapeth on the National Highway, easily accessible from all parts of Amravati city. The college is affiliated to Amravati University and it offers instruction through English and Marathi medium.
